ACGA Officer Duties
Arkansas Career & Guidance Association
President:
Preside over meetings according to accepted rules of parliamentary procedure.
Appoint committees as needed.
Coordinate the activities of the organization and evaluate the progress.
Represent ACGA in public relations and official functions.
Arrange for keynote speaker for summer in-service.
Arrange for entertainment at the summer in-service business meeting.
At Conference Registration—Collect ACGA dues with Sec/Treas.
Responsible for counting ACGA officer votes with Sec/Treas.
President Elect:
Preside over meetings in absence of the president.
Serve as an ex-officio member for committees appointed by the president.
Assist the president in coordination of the activities of the organization.
At Conference Registration—Hand out facilitator packets & door prizes.
Secretary-Treasurer:
Prepare and post agenda for each official meeting.
Prepare and present minutes of each official meeting.
Be responsible for official organizational correspondence.
Maintain member’s records and issue membership cards.
Receive, record, and deposit ACGA officer votes with President.
Responsible for counting ACGA officer votes with President.
Reporter:
Release news and information to regional and state news media.
Maintain a scrapbook for ACGA activities and events.
At Conference Registration—responsible for Panorama Pizza Box Contest check in.
Regional Vice Presidents:
Serve as a channel of communication for organization to other ACGA members within their region.
Serve on committees as necessary when and if requested by president.
Develop recruitment strategies for ACGA membership, both statewide and regionally.
Submit nominations for ACGA regional officers.
At Conference Registration—NW & SW Vice Presidents are responsible for A-K registration packet distribution.
At Conference Registration—NE & SE Vice Presidents are responsible for L-Z registration packet distribution.
All Officers:
Assist in the planning, organization, and coordination of the summer Career Guidance in-service.
Provide in-service training for new Career Guidance teachers.
Collect door prizes and packet materials for distribution at the summer Career Guidance in-service.
